Join a team of innovators at SAP Concur as a Software Design Engineer for our SAP Concur Expense Product software division. SAP Concur’s expense management platform is experiencing terrific growth. Our team is responsible for managing the core part of SAP Concur Expense offering, reconciliation and core workflows. The service needs to handle large volumes of traffic and is key to our mission of making business traveler’s life simpler.

In the first 6 months you will:

  • Use Service-Oriented-Architecture to build services as a part of Core Expense Software Stack.

  • Build Automation around the product feature areas using test frameworks and tools like Junit and JMeter

  • Participate in feature reviews to understand functional changes.

  • Develop features and enhancements for the Expense product.

  • Contribute in code areas that need moderate refactoring and architectural changes.

  • Investigate product issues with in-depth analysis and customer impact, and assist with prioritizing them.

  • Learn monitoring tools such as NewRelic to measure application performance. Help identify bottlenecks in the application.

In order to accomplish this you will need:

  • Good knowledge of Object oriented concepts and Java programming

  • Good understanding of Software-As-A-Service and Cloud computing practices

  • Good knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies such as Web Services, APIs, API testing, Database, UI stack

  • Good understanding of data structures and algorithms

  • Results driven personality, high enthusiasm, energy and confidence

  • A passion for everything that you do, with the ability to help the team push the boundaries in what we deliver for customers

  • Comfortable with cross-team communication

  • Team player: highly collaborative, an effective communicator able to listen to/work with others.

What do you need to bring?

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field.

  • 2 years of experience in software development and full product life cycle (continuous integration, automated testing, agile workflow).

  • Good Understanding of agile development principles/practices and the roles/responsibilities of all agile team members

  • Experience with multiple release cycles of customer facing code and APIs delivered to the web via cloud infrastructure.

  • Be Self-motivated with an innate sense of curiosity.

  • Confidence working and building software in dynamic fast-paced environment.

  • Be a quick learner and willing to acquire understanding and new information rapidly.

  • Evaluate solutions critically, define and identify problems, determine the probable causes, suggest solutions and use a systematic approach to anticipate problems.
