The Quality senior specialist is responsible for the design and implementation of the SAP NS2 Professional Services Organization (PSO) Quality Management System (QMS). The QMS will provide industry standard quality practices, considered best in class by leading system integrators, as well as adhere to the Project Management Institute (PMI) PMBOK and SAP quality assurance guidelines. The QMS should contain elements that are both highly proactive, with leading indicators defined and monitored to identify quality risks well in advance of them become issues, and reactive based on outcomes of audits and lower touch activities.
The Quality senior specialist will provide mentorship, training, execution, and monitoring for the QMS to the internal project management team, as well as lead customer-facing quality assurance activities, such as quality planning, development of quality KPIs, quality audits, corrective action recommendations, and monitoring as defined by the QMS.
The Quality senior specialist will develop a core QMS but will display professional flexibility in assisting the project management team in tailoring the standard QMS approach and tools for specific projects and customer outcomes. The Quality senior specialist has ability to plan and manage quality for complex projects as well as smaller programs and will be adept at working across multiple lines of business, organizations, and within a highly diverse culture.
EXAMPLES OF EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Evaluate RFx documents for quality requirements.
Assist in scoping and drafting quality related RFx proposal content and provide input for Statements of Work (SOWs).
Provide input on the level of effort and resources required to execute the quality plan and achieve KPIs.
Provide input on acceptance criteria.
Review and understand the contract and project.
Understand the customer drivers and desired outcomes.
Assist the project manager in applying the QMS to the baseline project plan.
Form and maintain positive relationships with project leadership and stakeholders.
Communicate a clear vision of the QMS objectives.
Ensure proper application of QMS methodology, tools, and procedures.
Perform ongoing quality reviews.
Report findings and creative fact-based, actionable plans.
Monitor for plan implementation and results and advise on corrective action.
Build customer relationships and remain non-biased throughout a review.
Conduct lessons learned for industry, product, or situation.
Assist in securing customer reference and success story.
Ability to create a QMS, based on experience leading complex projects, quality initiatives, and risk mitigation.
Experience and competency across the PMI PMBOK knowledge and process areas.
Experience in the full lifecycle of projects, from bid to close out.
Strong writing, mentoring, decision making, communication, and meeting facilitation skills.
Adaptability and flexibility to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to successfully work and thrive in a culturally diverse setting.
Ability to manage sensitive situations with legal implications.
10 – 12 years of project management experience in large scale, high risk, or strategic projects, preferably with 3 – 5 of those years dedicated to quality programs.
5 – 7 years of mentoring and coaching experience in a matrixed team environment.
Required undergraduate university degree, preferably in business, communication, commerce, engineering, information technologies or equivalent training and job experience.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, or equivalent Quality certification, preferred or willingness to obtain within a reasonable timeframe as requested by management.
