PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
The SAP Customer Experience Labs team, as part of the SAP Customer Experience Innovation Office, is looking for a Senior Technology Strategist to support growth of our self-organizing team.
By adding a new team member, we are hoping to explore further emerging and transformative technologies that impact the business of the future, to combine those technologies with the SAP C/4HANA suite and showcase its flexibility to our customers and partners through prototypes and PoCs.
Within our team, we practice a trust-based working model. If you need to work flexibly from another location or at another time you can do so given your manager’s agreement.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
As a Senior Technology Strategist, you will be responsible for assessment of emerging technologies and generate tangible insights. The individual filling this role is able to develop an in-depth understanding of one or more of the following areas: Internet of Things and Sensorics, Cloud Computing, Augmented, Virtual, Extended and/or Mixed Reality, Big Data, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. However, as technology is constantly evolving, we are always open to explore additional areas relevant for enhanced customer experiences.
Daily tasks include the exploration and research of emerging technology trends to assess these, development of creative concepts leveraging learnings from assessments of the new technologies and creating PoCs improving customer journeys on top of the SAP C/4HANA suite. Learnings from assessment need to be formulated for technological guidance to be used by others in the organization.
Our expectations are that the candidate should have the ability to work as part of a self-organizing team. He or she should be self-motivated, working independently and should be eager to pro-actively learn new technologies and skills without intensive prior training.
Good communication skills are a must for internal and external communication. As our team frequently engages with our customers and partners at conferences and events, the candidate should be comfortable explaining the developed prototypes, PoCs and software components to those audiences. The candidate should be able to support our exhibited prototypes at conferences and other industry events.
Being an active speaker at conferences to promote SAP Customer Experience Labs and our work is a nice to have.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
Being able to assess relevancy of technologies
Must have good software engineering skills and being able to build reusable software components
Broad knowledge in data exchange formats and protocols (JSON, XML, REST, etc.), including data processing and networking, are key to success in the candidate's daily work
UNIX administration experience and an understanding of version control systems such as Git is a requirement
Cloud experience, leveraging Amazon Web Services/Google Cloud Platform, microservices and dealing with cloud security topics is a plus
Education in electronics is a big plus
Experience with new and emerging technologies such as Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Blockchain, Machine Learning, Image Processing or IoT architectures would enable the candidate to build successful prototypes and PoCs, leveraging our software
- 4 years of software development experience in a commercial environment, utilizing a variety of programming languages
