Innovation Services and Solutions is a key growth engine for innovation within SAP; responsible for setting the innovation and co-innovation growth strategy, delivering on bookings and revenue budgets, managing the portfolio with tight collaboration with our Global CIM and Regional Market Unit teams, empowering our customers to become experience leaders through unique innovations. RESPONSIBILITIES

Role

The North America ISS Head role is responsible for executing on the ISS global strategy to drive profitable innovation and co-innovation growth; to lead and develop an exceptional regional ISS team and, as part of the regional Services Business Office, to partner effectively with Global CIM, Global IMM and Regional Market Units to ensure that we are selling and delivering innovative outcomes for our customer and acting as One SAP.

Innovation Services and Solutions has a unique position within SAP as an organization whose portfolio spans products (license, subscription), services and support. The North America ISS Head has responsibility for driving innovation growth across the whole portfolio and throughout the end to end lifecycle from business development and sales activities through to customer success and cloud renewals. The North America ISS Head combines deep experience and passion for innovation with exceptionally strong influencing skills to be able to successfully operate across board areas (P&L) to drive ISS commercial outcomes.

Responsibilities:

To carry out the above role successfully, the North America Innovation Services and Solutions Head will:

  • Act as a general manager, market maker and change agent for innovation and co-innovation for the region, with the ability to influence and connect the dots across all innovation related expert teams to drive the monetization of the full ISS portfolio (Innovation Services and IBSO Projects). The ISS Head is responsible for driving growth in all areas.

  • Responsibility to perform against North America ISS portfolio of services budgets for bookings and revenue. This responsibility requires sales leadership over a NA team of Innovation Solution Sales Advisors and a team of IBSO engagement managers.

  • Drive realization of commercial targets for innovation for the region– revenue, bookings and margins across the full portfolio. This includes holding responsibility for Regional CAE renewals. Be a change agent and manage the transformation of ISS continuous business changes and processes with an ability to manage multiple changes as one within the context of the broader SAP and across board area.

  • Contribute to the development of the Global ISS and IMM strategy and be fully accountable for the required localization and roll out of the ISS strategy for their region.

  • Work as an integral part of the leadership team within the Global Service Line of ISS and IMM to develop and execute the ISS strategy and growth plan and own the achievement of these for the region.

  • Have a digital and cloud mindset – demonstrate a commitment to innovation, change and evolution. Enable clients to draw continuous benefit from innovations so that it becomes the de-facto option to discover and build innovation and enable digital transformation.

  • Accountable for successful commercial outcomes throughout the lifecycle of the ISS portfolio – working with all relevant partners across the business to achieve this.

  • Act as a role model with an innovation mindset, breakdown silos, and be comfortable to challenge the status quo to address any barriers to success and evaluate new ways of working

  • Manages both direct reporting line and matrix teams across the global and regional organizations to drive innovation growth

  • Build/maintain relationships with other innovation centers and stakeholders across SAP and seek mutually beneficial opportunities for partnership and growth - including but not limited to AppHaus, BTS, Product Innovation, SAP.IO etc

  • Champion a One SAP approach and work across board area/P&L boundaries to deliver the right innovation outcomes for our customers and SAP

  • Be an excellent communicator, storyteller, and presenter of innovation

  • Act as a champion for innovation and for ISS, effectively representing ISS as a global and regional function internally and externally

  • Input into transformation for the ISS specific portfolio.

Reporting Lines and Operating Model:

The role of the North America ISS Head is a senior leadership position directly reporting into the North America Services Chief Business Officer (SBO Head) and key member of the extended SBO / IMM Global Leadership Team.

This is a unique role within SAP, the nature of the portfolio of ISS, which includes license, services and support revenues and as such the individuals are expected to form part of the Regional Customer Success leadership team, specifically within the North America Services Business Office. In addition, they will be expected to build strategic and influential relationships with relevant stakeholders in Customer Success (e.g. Account Managers and Line of Business leaders.

Experience & Requirements

You will have:

  • Proven leadership experience in sales/sales support with consulting/delivery and/or operations

  • Development and engineering knowledge preferred

  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique value of the Innovation Services and Solutions organization, including the value of an “IP & Services” proposition to drive profitable growth

  • Proven track record of ability to influence without authority and lead in a virtual matrix environment

  • Change management and transformation experience

  • Experience of leading a diverse team of experts to successful commercial outcomes

  • Digital native mentality with a passion for innovation with deep and proven understanding of driving innovation at scale

  • A track record of driving significant, sustainable growth businesses in a cloud or intelligent technology environment

  • Commercial acumen, insight and capability

  • Executive level presence and influencing ability

  • Passion for new models of working, including agile and networked organizational models

  • Exceptional management capability with a passion for talent acquisition, retention and development

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from reputable university

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

  • Fluent English
