PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

The SAP Data and Database Management (DDM) portfolio gives companies a real-time, radically simplified architecture for running core business operations without the complexity of legacy enterprise infrastructure. At its foundation is digital core and enterprise software powered by SAP HANA®. An in-memory computing platform, SAP HANA supports next-generation business applications from edge to core, on premise and in the cloud

We are hiring a senior leader to expend and lead the world class capability for SAP’s DDM in Korea, based in Seoul. This leader will be part of the SAP DDM Leadership Team in Asia Pacific Region, reporting to the Regional Head of SAP DDM. In this role, he/she is responsible for all Business Development and Sales activities in the Korea market, covering all industries and customer segments and leading a highly motivated team of SAP DDM Account Executives. The role requires a proven track record in Software / Cloud Sales, excellent people management skills and a solid understanding of the trends and challenges in the Korea market.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Work closely with the SAP Management Team in the Korea Market Unit, as well as Marketing and Demand Generation Teams, to develop and agree on the SAP DDM go to market, territory and growth plan and its execution, covering all industry, customer segments as well as channel business.

Successfully orchestrate using personal knowledge, market insight and personal network to develop and execute an effective long-term sales strategy and plan in the Korea market.

Utilize a disciplined approach for successful solution selling (Value Centric Sales Approach), establishing and maintaining accurate, timely and documented sales revenue forecasting cadence, providing required updates to SAP executive management.

Ensure the overall quarterly performance of the entire team with respect to the goals / KPIs and revenue targets by acting as a supporter, coach or sparring partner for the team.

Define and establish a trustful and long-term relationship to the entire Ecosystem (System Integrators and Resellers)

Forster a learning culture, focused on high-performance, agility, creativity within the DDM Team. Recruit, develop, train and motivate a group of high achieving A-players, based on SAP company’s’ values.

Build a network of executive relationships across industry, community and business groups, and with key partners and customers.

Support the development of solid SAP DDM references.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

The ideal candidate must be an accomplished senior sales leader, with sound reputation and a consistent successful track record of achievement in a complex matrix organization.

He or she needs to have a profound experience in strategic and consultative sales, with the ability and credibility to engage the client’s “C-Suite”, winning their trust and consequent business, coupled with demonstrated experience.

Korea market and competitive experience as well as DDM domain knowledge is a plus

Ability to “keynote” and be the driving force for SAP Korea’s DDM portfolio

Well-developed strategic skills to drive Sales and Marketing and go-to-market improvement

Proven track record in building and leading teams to achieve aggressive growth targets

Demonstrated ability to work effectively within complex matrix organizations with the knowledge of how to successfully navigate issues with imaginative and winning solutions

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Fluency in Korea and business fluency in English

WORK EXPERIENCE

8 years’ experience in sales role covering large, complex, international enterprises

Min. 3 years successful people management experience in software sales

Preferably experience in the Database & Data Management Line of Business. Experience in Cloud sales is a plus.

Proven track record of capturing and growing customer and market share in a profitable manner
